Show down begins in only 11 days!

Another area golf event featuring an LPGA star will take place on Oct. 2 at Shackamaxon Country Club in Scotch Plains, N.J., where the inaugural Garden State Tour Pro Challenge will take place featuring Morgan Pressel.

The charitable event will feature six amateur qualifiers golfing against Pressel in a series of three-hole matches.

The “Challenge” will benefit the New Jersey Golf Foundation, the official charity of the New Jersey section of the PGA. The organization’s mission is to grow the game of golf in New Jersey and to provide access to the game specifically to youth throughout the Garden State.
Qualifying tournaments are currently taking place at 20 private and public clubs around New Jersey with an entry fee of $20. For more information on how to enter one of the remaining qualifiers, contact The New Jersey Golf Foundation at (732) 465-1212.

All the clubs’ winners in five categories (Ladies Net, Ladies Gross, Men’s Gross, Men’s Net and Men’s Senior Gross) will come together to compete in a playoff round at Shackamaxon Country Club on Sept. 24.

The winners in each category will advance to face Pressel. A sixth spot will be reserved for a First Tee qualifier.

The day will begin with an 18-hole celebrity pro-am that will feature players playing alongside former NFL greats as well as New Jersey PGA professionals. Each foursome will meet and take photos with Pressel. Individual pro-am spots are $500.

Visit:www.shackamaxoncc.com or call (908)233-1300 ext. 230 to reserve your spot in the field.

After the pro-am, the main event will take place with Pressel beginning her head-to-head matches against the New Jersey amateur qualifiers. Gallery tickets to watch Pro Tour Challenge are $10 and can be reserved by calling (908) 233-1300 ext. 230. Tickets will also be available on-site at the club on Oct. 2.
